Captain Tanner is a proud Southwest Florida native who has spent his life fishing the local waters of Fort Myers, Pine Island, and the surrounding Gulf Coast. His family first settled in Fort Myers in 1918, opening a shipping facility along the railroad tracks. Growing up, fishing wasn’t just a pastime — it was a way of life.

As a kid, Tanner could usually be found either on the water or on the ball field. After high school, he played baseball at Milligan University in East Tennessee before returning home to become a firefighter. When the time was right, Tanner purchased the perfect boat and followed his lifelong dream of becoming a professional fishing guide.

Not long after starting his charter business, he met his wife Megan, and together they chose to deepen their roots in the community they love. Today, they’re raising their daughter Hadley, who already shares their passion for the water. Most recently, Captain Tanner was honored by the community as Best Fishing Guide in Pine Island.
